The Cheese Making Workshop is an Italian cheese making class taking the mystery out of making cheese from dairy.
We break it down into something so simple, that even the most un-experienced in the kitchen will have no trouble producing your own homemade cheese without any fuss or bother. Do you think making your own cheese from scratch is hard labour. Wrong! It’s quick, its easy and it’s so much fun. Slicing and moulding the cheese and watching it drain in minutes is like an amazing science experiment. You will be so proud of yourself for learning this technique. But shhhhhh lets not tell your family and friends how easy it is, or that you whipped up a cheese of different coilours and flavours in less than 30 minutes. Lets just wow them with your amazing creations. All cheeses made on the day will be pacakged so you can take them home so please bring along acold pack and cold bag if possible.
Produce 4 different kinds of cheese (generally Bocconcini Mozzarella, Prima Sale’, Labneh and Ricotta) over a 4.5 hour period, stopping to indulge in both a morning tea snack as well as a sumptuous Italian lunch we have pre-prepared for you. .
Class runs from 9.00am to 1.30pm
Enclosed shoes will be required. We also recommend you tie your hair back if applicable. We are byo so please feel free to bring a bottle of wine along to enjoy during the class and our lunch. You will be indulging in a delicious feast of the food you have created plus some little extra’s we have prepared. There is usually some left overs for you to take home too, so please feel free to bring along containers and cold bags. What Should I Bring
We will provide all aprons, knives, utensils etc. for you to use during the duration of the class. Please wear closed-in shoes and tie long hair back.
I have special dietary needs (such as vegan or gluten free).
Many of our chefs are celiac, vegetarian or vegan and our Chef in charge of classes is a qualified Nutritionist, so we really are experts in this arena. We will ensure the class you have chosen is suitable/flexible for you or alternatively will recommend another class.
Should I bring lunch?
Included in your day is a complimentary morning tea snack as well as a complimentary Italian feast lunch – plus enjoy it all with any byo wine or beer you would like to bring along.
Can I bring my child?
Children over the age of 14 are welcome to attend at regular prices. Many of our groups enjoy bringing their teenage children along and making beautiful fun memories.
Tickets are non-refundable once purchased. Dates may be changed at our discretion up to 7 days in advance. Tickets are transferable (to another person) at Italia’s discretion. So please ensure availability etc prior to booking.
